MAP: "The World of the Wheel of Time" by Rob Christianson

Updated: Sep 6, 2022

Several months ago, I took on the monumental task of illustrating my own map of the Westlands of the Wheel of Time… but I didn’t stop there. Once it got to a point where I wasn’t happy with a lot of the techniques I used, I decided to redo a large portion (mountains, forests, etc.) and then LOST the entire Westlands and had to redraw them. I then had the thought, “Well, I might as well do the entire world!“ After all, we haven’t seen a fully illustrated world map before to the best of my knowledge, just flat graphical ones or separate maps divided by continent like in the BWBBA.

If you would like to purchase a full size 40"x18" print suitable for framing, head over to New Creations By Jen today! You will also find individual maps of the Westlands + Shara, Seanchan and The Land of Madmen!

Where did you get the surface details of Shara and the Isle of Madmen?

Replying to

Research, speculation, weather patters and climate predictions, the general ecosystems and climes of Australia, the BWBBA and my own interpretations and imagination. I couldn’t just leave them blank! 😉

Only flaw: I didn't see a close up specific view of the Aiel Waste.

Awesome Rob, well done, probably the best entire known world WOT map I have ever seen. Looking at the Seanchan Map you have to wonder how long it took them to develop their Fleet given that Seanchan Shipping would be totally dominated by smallish trading Vessels operating in protected waters and except for around the Mechoacan Coast(SE Corner) long open ocean trips would not occur.

PS: As everyone knows the Land of the Mad Man is actually Australia😁
