In a controversial clandestine meeting outside of Emond's Field, the village wisdom, a young woman named Nynaeve Al'Meara has reportedly pushed the mayor's daughter off of a 20 meter cliff! When pressed as to the cause, the young Wisdom just sniffed and tugged her braid with a stern "No comment!"

The mayor's daughter, one Egwene Al'Vere, reportedly survived the fall into the White River rapids below. Al'Vere's older sister told us the event was likely a Wisdom's Apprentice initiation ceremony.

Our reporter pressed Al'Meara, asking "The girl trusted you as her Wisdom when you told her to close her eyes to "listen to the wind". Then she said you suddenly pushed her off a cliff!"

She broke in, "That little chit! It was a team-building exercise!" The village Women's Circle has mandated that Al'Meara attend a 10 week course in anger management.

After two strangers arrived at the small village of Emond's Field this Winternight, conveniently before a band of raiding Trollocs, the woman of the pair, supposedly a High Lady according to one Ewin Finngar, suddenly summoned lightning like some Darkfriend Aes Sedai out of a story. Several large trollocs fell victim to her blast, but not before she lashed out at the Winespring Inn, the town's only lodging facility and coincidentally, the home of the town mayor and his family.

Mayor Al'Vere and his wife, Marin, will be pressing charges and the two strangers are being held on charges of negligent arson, awaiting trial by the Village Council.

When asked about how it felt seeing his livelihood and generational home go up in flames, Mayor Al'Vere answered, "Even if the 'Queen' gave us a fire department, and Light knows that THAT would ever happen, what cause did she have to destroy my inn. Our home! My wife's KITCHEN! It's just not right...."

At that moment, the mayor's wife broke in, "My KITCHEN?!? That WITCH!"

Unsurprisingly, there has been no comment from Queen Morgase. It's reportedly been generations since there has even been a tax collector in Emond's Field, so the village council is certainly not holding its breath...
